S****COPE OF POSITION:

The Website Development & Performance Officer is responsible for ensuring Oxfam Canada’s website raises awareness of the injustice of poverty and inequality, deepens Oxfam’s value proposition, and inspires support for Oxfam’s work and campaigns. Experienced in using WordPress, the Officer manages website content and performance, and ensures compliance with accessibility standards. They will also oversee the optimization of search engine results and contribute to initiatives to increase online donations. Reporting to the Manager, Communications, they will work in close collaboration with the Communications team and other cross-functional teams, to ensure dynamic website content and contribute to the organizations broader marketing-communications goals, while taking a supporter centric approach and leveraging innovative digital best practices.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**:** (This is not an exhaustive list of duties to be performed)

  • Ensure Oxfam Canada’s website is dynamic and engaging and helps the public and supporters learn about Oxfam and is inspired to support OCA

  • Contribute to the planning, scheduling and publication of content on Oxfam.ca

  • Contribute to the organization’s content marketing strategy

  • Ensure digital products are consistent with the Oxfam brand guidelines and compliant with accessibility standards

  • Assist with evaluating content and key word performance and making recommendations for on-site optimizations, content development and link-building

  • Refine the search performance, both organic search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM)

  • Ensure all appropriate tracking, tagging and digital analytics set-up for all digital initiatives

  • Continuously monitor, measure and refine Oxfam Canada’s digital properties to ensure optimized user experience and best practices

  • Oversees data analysis and provides evidence-based recommendations to maximize web performance

  • Maintain Data Studio Google Analytics, monitor trends, and make recommendations for stronger performance and revenue conversions

  • Supports special projects as required

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES**:**

  • 3 years’ experience developing and maintaining website content management systems – WordPress or Drupal experience essential
  • Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and commitment to global justice, social change, women’s rights and gender equality
  • Experience working with HTML and CSS
  • Proficient in global accessibility standards and WCAG 2.2
  • Proven experience with SEO, SEM, PPC, Google Grant
  • Proficient in using Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta and UTM tags, and making recommendations
  • Ability to stay atop digital trends, quickly learn new web tools and adapt to new technologies
  • Experience with Engaging Networks and Salesforce an asset
  • Experience serving as a bridge between technical and non-technical personnel
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team, in a self-directed manner, and to prioritize and manage workloads in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient English verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong collaboration skills and experience in working in a matrix environment
  • Positive track record in building and maintaining respectful and effective relationships with senior managers, staff and senior volunteers
  • Experience working with third party contractors, agencies and service providers
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize work and manage multiple projects with high efficiency, accuracy and enthusiasm
  • Willingness to sign and abide the Oxfam Code of Conduct.
