Volunteer at Oxfam

🇳🇿 Auckland Central, NZ 📝 VOLUNTEER 🎯 ENTRY LEVEL

Volunteer at Oxfam (Unpaid) Office Volunteer Expression of Interest! Join us at Oxfam, where we’re ending the injustice of poverty.

For everyone. For good.

Want to make a difference to the lives of people across the globe, by supporting Oxfam in a volunteer capacity with one of our biggest fundraising campaigns of the year?

Who are we?

Oxfam is a global movement of millions of people who share the vision of a world without poverty. Together, we endeavour to create a world where people everywhere are valued and treated equally. Where people are empowered to influence the decisions that affect their lives, and where people can thrive on a planet that has the natural resources to sustain them.

Oxfam saves lives and helps to rebuild livelihoods when disaster strikes. This means providing access to clean water, aiding families to earn a dignified living, grow food and send their children to school. We stand up for the rights of women everywhere and speak out against injustices that keep people poor. We fight poverty now – and beat it for good.

Volunteer opportunities  We're always on the lookout for passionate people who want to donate their time to support our work at Oxfam Aotearoa. The additional capacity volunteers bring to Oxfam are essential for us to deliver real impact for our mission, and are incredibly valued. This particular opportunity focuses around our Auckland office, assisting with various administrative tasks including processing donations, return mail, and helping prepare annual receipts for our supporters.

Our ideal candidate

You are organised, reliable, and have good office administration and IT skills. You’ll have great attention to detail, and care deeply about international development and global justice issues, which may include having some knowledge about these issues, particularly in the Pacific region.

Preferred availability is currently Tuesdays or Wednesdays, with hours flexible to suit, as we have a committed team of volunteers covering the alternative days of the week.

Apply now!

In return, we offer a great volunteer work culture and an amazing global Oxfam network. You will have the opportunity to build your volunteer experience and to make a tangible difference to those living in poverty. Based in central Auckland, our volunteer opportunities are flexible, part-time hours, and unpaid. We provide reimbursements for commute costs, and we can provide a volunteer reference letter for the time you have committed to us.

Next steps

We review expressions of interest on a weekly basis, and will endeavour to touch base with you as soon as we can. Please be clear in your CV what experience and skills you have and your intention/goal with this volunteering opportunity, and we look forward to hearing from you soon.

Note: Only volunteers currently living in NZ need apply. All offers of employment will be subject to satisfactory references and may also be subject to additional screening checks, which can include criminal record and medical checks.

We are committed to: preventing any type of unwanted behaviour at work including sexual harassment, exploitation and abuse, lack of integrity and financial misconduct; and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults.  Oxfam expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment through our Code of Conduct. We place a high priority on ensuring that we recruit only those who share and demonstrate our values.
