Total Rewards Intern

About the opportunity

SWCA is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Human Resources (HR) Intern to support our Total Rewards and HR Technology functions. In this position, you will be supporting the team’s administrative, data management, and other HR-related tasks.

This internship will occur during the summer of 2023 (June 5th-mid August). Candidates who can start earlier than June 2023 will be considered, and those who can remain past August may provide additional value. Interns can expect coaching and direction from functional leadership in their respective support areas and participate in the larger internship cohort for scheduled developmental programming with senior organizational leaders.

This is a paid, full-time internship.  Interns will be paid between $17.00/hour and $20.40/hour dependent solely on office location.

What you will accomplish

Your role will be to assist our corporate HR “Total Rewards and Technology” functions while learning a wide variety of skills. Total Rewards includes the company’s compensation, benefits and wellness programs. Major activities include but may not be limited to:

  • Special emphasis on gaining experience of SWCA’s Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and exposure to systems management such as background job troubleshooting, system password resets, Ceridian ticket management, report creation and various organizational requests.
  • Shadow the Total Rewards team and gain experience on Benefits, Compensation and HRIS management
  • Creating and/or updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support the Total Rewards team
  • Assist with the development of new job descriptions and other tools to support the company-wide job titling effort

Experience and qualifications for success

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university, pursuing a bachelor's degree in human resources, business, accounting, psychology, or related field, completion of junior year, senior year or a recent graduate within 12 months of May 1, 2023.  Masters students will also be considered.
  • Must have completed 60 credit hours and a minimum of a junior classification by January 3, 2023.
  • Available to work a minimum of 12 continuous weeks
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office programs.
  • Ability to work remotely and have high speed internet connectivity.
  • Must be able to exercise discretion and maintenance of confidentiality.

Preferred

  • Sharepoint software or related experience.
