Test Engineer I

Ambri, an energy company commercializing an innovative battery technology first developed at MIT, is seeking a full-time Test Engineer I. This individual will work on the Cell Development team and report directly to the Testing Operations Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor battery test data and regularly report findings to test owners
• Ensure safe and accurate operation of electrical and thermal test equipment in accordance with testing instructions
• Develop and audit battery testing programs
• Carry out or coordinate maintenance of digital and physical testing infrastructure
• Follow and help create standard operating procedures for routine physical and digital testing operations
• Dispatch technicians to complete daily physical operations
• Analyze cell test data to inform battery development
• Participate fully in ongoing laboratory safety and process improvement programs

Requirements:

• BS/MS in Engineering and/or Science, or equivalent work experience
• Comfort and familiarity with a laboratory or industrial work environment
• Excellent attention to detail, cleanliness and organization
• Track record of reliable on-time completion of assigned tasks
• Good-to-advanced general computer skills with some programming or scripting experience
• Familiarity with relational databases (i.e., MySQL) and software tools for handling and analyzing large datasets (i.e, R, Python) preferred
• Strong pattern recognition and data analysis skills
• Ability to clearly communicate technical information, both in writing and verbally
• A mindset that seeks continual improvement and new opportunities to learn
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
