Talent Development Intern

About the opportunity

SWCA seeks a Talent Development Intern (Learning and Development/Training) for the Summer of 2023, to our Talent Development Manager. You will assist with a variety of projects, including internal marketing advertising for upcoming training initiatives and helping to create engaging content on our internal web-based collaborative platform. SWCA offers an enthusiastic, supportive, and casual work environment with flexible schedules. This position is available to sit remote in any location within the United States.

This internship will occur during the summer of 2023 (June 5th-mid August). Candidates who can start earlier than June 2023 will be considered, and those who can remain past August may provide additional value. Interns can expect coaching and direction from functional leadership in their respective support areas and participate in the larger internship cohort for scheduled developmental programming with senior organizational leaders.

This is a paid, full-time internship.  Interns will be paid between $17.00/hour and $20.40/hour dependent solely on office location.

What you will accomplish

  • Support the Talent Development team with organizational strategy, projects, communications and compliance.
  • Support maintenance of the Talent Development pages of company intranet site
  • Author internal communications supporting learning and development initiatives
  • Track weekly communications, schedule training sessions across multiple time-zones, update internal intranet program pages.
  • Review vendor training content, making recommendations for content selection and implementation
  • Assist in creating internal training marketing plans
  • Create training materials for a variety of company initiatives
  • Conduct administrative responsibilities to help assist with scheduling and organizing in-person trainings

Experience and qualifications for success

Required

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program having a junior classification or higher, with an emphasis in Human Resources, Instructional Design, Marketing, Educational Psychology, Educational Technology, or other related field.
  • Recent graduates will also be considered with a graduation date within 12 months of May 2022.
  • Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Prior experience meeting deadlines.
  • Proactive communication with peers and leaders.

Preferred

  • Graphic design experience.
