Supplier Quality Engineer

Ambri, an energy startup commercializing an innovative battery technology first developed at MIT, is seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the creation and implementation of a supplier qualification and rating system as well as contribute to and participate in periodic supplier business reviews
• Perform supplier audits as needed to assess the robustness and effectiveness of internal process and procedures
• Review incoming materials for defects and follow up with vendors as needed to resolve issues including generating SCARs
• Provide technical guidance to vendors to reduce defects
• Communicate regularly with suppliers to address concerns and improve working relationship to foster continued improvement
• Review internal design and manufacturing specifications to assist in determining best method for fabrication

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering
• 5+ years Supplier Management and Development experience in a manufacturing environment
• Understanding of metal fabrication manufacturing, PCBA and cable assembly process. (SPC, FMEA, etc.), Chemical background is a strong plus
• Knowledge of Six Sigma Tools & methodologies, with ability to apply them to Supplier Audit is a plus
