We are seeking to recruit a Structuring and Valuations Associate to strengthen the Structuring and Valuations team. This role will be based in The Hague and report to the Head of Structuring and Valuations. The core focus of the role will be to support the structuring and valuation team in conducting valuation of the investments, management of funds liquidity and design and management the blended finance structure.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Financial Modelling and Analysis:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models, including scenario builds, to assess fund performance and potential outcomes.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
2. External Valuation Management:
- Oversee and manage relationships with external valuators to ensure accurate and timely valuation of fund assets.
- Collaborate with external valuers to address queries and provide necessary information.
3. Cash Flow Analysis:
- Analyze and assess factors that may impact the cash flow position of the Funds.
- Propose strategies to optimize cash flow and mitigate potential risks.
4. Decision-Making Support:
- Prepare and review memos and presentations for decision-makers, providing insights into Fund liquidity and recommending appropriate actions.
5. Foreign Exchange Exposure Management:
- Identify and understand foreign exchange exposure at fund/manager or investment levels.
- Design and implement effective measures to mitigate foreign exchange risks.
6. Database Knowledge Management:
- Act as the knowledge manager for the database, overseeing data related to FX rates, interest rates, and other relevant financial information.
7. Blended Finance Management:
- Manage relationships with various stakeholders including the investors, guarantee providers, ensuring effective communication and cooperation.
- identifying and implementing enhancements, conducting data-driven analysis, and collaborating with stakeholders to optimize existing blended finance solutions (including guarantee solutions) and drive overall improvement in performance and efficiency.
8. Cross-Border Transaction Support:
- Assist in the structuring of cross-border transactions, considering and addressing matters including taxation
- Provide support throughout the deal process lifecycle until exit.
9. Portfolio Team Support:
- Collaborate with portfolio teams, offering support and insights across the deal process.
- Ensure seamless communication and coordination between various teams involved in the fund management process.
Qualifications & Experience
- University degree or equivalent, with econometrics or finance focus.
- 3 - 5 years’ experience within Consultancy, Investment Banking, or similar fields.
- Strong financial modelling skills and attention to detail.
- Financial acumen – the capacity to demonstrate knowledge of and insight into financial principles and processes and identify inconsistencies in data.
- Ability to plan and prioritize effectively; strong project / process management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Technically proficient (Advanced) in Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Knowledge of coding is a plus.
