Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and dynamic Standards Coordinator to support the work of Textile Exchange’s Standards platform, including development of our standard system. The Standards Coordinator will support the work of the Standards team across all standards but with a specific focus on bringing the standard system to life.

The position will report to the Standards, Senior Manager.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and customer-service minded. Success in the role will depend on attention to detail, a high degree of organization, resourcefulness, and professionalism. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English is a must.

Like all roles at Textile Exchange, the role will be primarily home-based, although preference will be given to those based in North America or who have the ability to work in a North American time zone. Textile Exchange is US-based, remote-working organization with a global team.

Duties and Responsibilities

Standard development support:

  • Track, interpret and summarize stakeholder feedback during calls, stakeholder meetings and public consultation periods using a variety of tools and sources

  • Coordinate International Working Group (IWG) members via Textile Exchange’s community online platform, The Hub,  and other ways as needed, specifically ensuring our IWG members have the information they need to support us in the development of standards.

  • Contribute to the development of standards documents, policies, guidance documents, tools and resources as assigned to support alignment of procedures and internal workflows.

  • Support the preparation of meeting decks, including formatting and proof-reading.

  • Schedule calls with internal and external stakeholders involved in the development of the standard system and take notes as well as record follow up items during those calls. Also coordinate the organizing of notes and other information to keep an up to date record of the standard development status.

  • Research and document issues covered in Textile Exchange standards.

  • Coordinate communication logistics and follow up for the Standards team with other Textile Exchange teams, the IWG, and stakeholders on areas contributing to progress on standard development.

  • Build effective relationships across all levels of the organization from the leadership team to junior colleagues to ensure you are connected to organizational initiatives.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • Detail-oriented, logical, proactive, resourceful, curious learner, and highly organized.

  • People person with a strong customer service mindset. Ability to communicate and collaborate respectfully and effectively with non-native English speakers.

  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills. Ability to synthesize and present complex information in a simple, meaningful way.

  • One to two years of experience working in an analytical, stakeholder engagement, technical writing or sustainability capacity.

  • Demonstrated interest in Textile Exchange’s vision, mission, and goals.

  • Ability to work in a flexible, yet fast-paced remote environment, able to meet deadlines and share progress regularly. Comfort with ambiguity, pivoting, and working towards a big-picture mindset.

  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation with ability to work remotely effectively.

  • Dedicated team player.

  • Occasional travel, if needed.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Based in North America or ability to work in North American time zone.

  • Familiarity with MS Office Tools (Excel, Sharepoint, Word, Teams), and Zoom.

  • Experience with Salesforce

  • Experienced in collecting feedback from a global audience using a variety of tools (email, webinars, strategic conference calls, etc.) preferred.

  • Second language (Chinese, German, French, Spanish preferred).

  • One to two years of supply chain experience.

Employment Package

  • Reports to: Standards, Senior Manager

  • Full Time Position, 40 Hours a Week

  • Location: Virtual/Remote

  • Salary Range: $38,000 - $45,000

  • Start Date: As Soon as Available
