Staff Environmental Scientist

We are seeking a Staff Environmental Scientist to join our team.

Our Phoenix office offers a unique work environment and specializes in Renewable Energy, Mining, Power Generation, State & Local Government, and Transmission projects.

In this role, you will write technical reports and collect data for Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and reports related to the National Environmental Policy Act, and other resource planning/permitting.  Assist in the writing and development of proposals and technical reports related to project work. Conduct fieldwork, organize, and transfer field data.

What you will accomplish

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in environmental fieldwork and/or technical writing required
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations and guidance, particularly in the Southwest preferred
  • Familiarity with mapping software such as ArcGIS, Google Earth, and GPS devices is highly desired
  • Ability to travel to a location, walk and conduct fieldwork for long hours throughout the southwest, sometimes in inclement weather, rugged terrain, often  at high altitudes, and ability to carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds is required
  • Performs a broad range of tasks related to a variety of wildlife, plant, and aquatic resources
  • Troubleshoots routine problems with oversight
  • Organize and assist with QA/QC and analysis of field data, synthesize data for reporting
  • Assist with completion of technical reports
  • Use GIS applications, including Collector, ArcGIS Field Maps and ArcGIS Online to complete data collection in the field

An employee in this Phoenix, AZ based position can expect an hourly rate of $23-$30. Actual pay within this range may depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, client requirements where applicable, and other factors permitted by law.  Regular-status employees are also eligible for performance bonuses.
