OVERALL FUNCTION
The Senior Analyst, Equity and Climate Justice will be a key member of the Justice and Equity team, working to implement EDF’s Environmental Justice Strategic Plan and build EDF's capacity to engage on a just and equitable, low-carbon transition on the local, national, and international level. The Senior Analyst will conduct rigorous research and analysis, engage with policy representatives, and build new collaborations with NGOs, agencies, and other partners. The Senior Analyst will adapt planning to meet resource needs and is an expert point-of-contact to colleagues and stakeholders on Equity and Climate Justice technical issues, including but not limited to net-zero, health and climate justice, and low-carbon innovation. Under the leadership of the Director, Equitable and Just Policy Solutions, the Senior Analyst uses experience and knowledge to manage collaborations and processes involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree and at least four or more years of related experience or an advanced degree in environmental science or policy, epidemiology, or a related field with at least 2 or more years of relevant work experience.
Demonstrated competence with justice and equity theory and practice.
Familiarity with climate policy or climate justice policy in the U.S., preferably including intersections with health impacts.
Strong ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, both independently and as a member of multi-disciplinary teams in a dynamic, fast-paced and creative environment.
Strong analytical skills and experience performing rigorous analysis in support of highly visible work, including social science or environmental science related methodologies.
Demonstrated skill in synthesizing complex information for non-technical audiences and to translating results into practical solutions.
The ability to learn quickly, acquire new skill sets, and think critically.
Demonstrated capacity to independently troubleshoot problems where precedents are not always available using an original arrangement or interpretation of complex information or activities to arrive at logical conclusions.
Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
Independent judgment required to plan, prioritize and organize a diverse workload.
Experience balancing the needs of multiple diverse stakeholders both internally and externally.
Demonstrated ability to work constructively within a diverse and inclusive environment both internally and externally.
