YOUR ROLE:

The successful candidate will provide the marketing team with strong writing skills that can be adapted in GivePower’s voice.  He/She/They will focus on copywriting for grants, fundraising decks and more. He/She/They will have strong organizational skills, great attention to detail and can meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. This new team member will have a passion for helping others and caring for our environment providing the energy needed to work through complex creative processes.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Bring advanced knowledge of journalistic content, methodology and demonstrated  knowledge of effective engagement processes and tools to drive audiences to act
• Demonstrate the personal ability to craft compelling audience-relevant messages and stories
• Develop communications strategy to drive awareness of GivePower and engagement with our external audiences.   Deliverables may include audience journeys, campaign ecosystems and engagement frameworks
• Forge relationships with internal members of senior leadership across disciplines and departments
• Regularly produce content showing clear intelligence and articulation in journalistic, editorial and storytelling styles of communication, including, but not limited to:
  • Working with Creative and Fundraising teams to create decks that inspire donors to act
  • Supporting the grant writing process and award applications
  • Supporting the Creative team writing copy for the monthly newsletter
  • Supporting the Creative team with copy updates for website
  • Writing compelling copy for channel specific social media postings

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

• Bachelor’s degree, journalism experience a plus
• Exceptional writing and copy editing skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Provide post copy, while maintaining the company's voice and creative standards
• Ability to multi-task and take initiative
• Proficiency with word processing, PowerPoint, spreadsheet software, google drive, DropBox and Canva
• Strong organization, time management, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build effective relationships within the team and with cross-functional partners
• Ability to quickly learn and process information
• Experience working with diverse skill sets and cultural backgrounds
• Ability to be flexible and meet deadlines in a hectic environment
