About the Job

We are currently seeking a full-time Senior Technical Editor.  The desired candidate must be an enthusiastic self-starter with exceptional attention to detail and a high level of proficiency with Microsoft® Office products and Adobe® Acrobat.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Technical Editor, your job responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Completing the editorial review on a variety of technical documents ranging in size from a few pages to multiple volumes, including data presented in tabular and graphical formats.
  • Gauging appropriate level of effort given constraints on project budget and time allotted.
  • Adhering to and promoting company styles and conventions for written communications.
  • Communicating with technical staff regarding document specifications and schedules.
  • Coordinating with editorial and document production staff to level workload and assist each other as needed.
  • Providing user support for Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat, including troubleshooting and resolving issues.
  • Compiling bookmarked, navigable PDF files of completed work products.
  • Planning and supporting hard copy production efforts to deliver copies of documents under stringent deadlines.

Qualifications

Candidates should hold a bachelor's degree in science or technical communication, or related discipline.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 10 years of direct editorial experience in a technical field, preferably with a professional services firm
  • Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent ability to multitask for sustained periods
  • High proficiency in Microsoft® Office products and Adobe® Acrobat
  • Competency in WordPress
