Summary
Solidarity Center seeks an experienced union organizer to support its organizing efforts in Brazil and the broader Americas region. This individual is responsible for coordinating organizing programs across the region, including multinational campaigns, training, and general movement-building work. The Senior Organizing Specialist is involved in developing and implementing strategic organizing programs, including international solidarity with partnership from the AFL-CIO, U.S. unions, and the Global Union Federations (GUFs). This individual will identify and implement strategies to provide support and solidarity to unions in the region to advance the global labor movement.
The successful candidate will be experienced in all aspects of union organizing and campaign-building, and will possess a passion for international worker solidarity. The Senior Organizing Specialist must help develop and drive successful organizing and build strong international labor solidarity in the process.
This position will require extensive travel within the region (based on the lifting of pandemic restrictions and confirmation of safe conditions on the ground). The Senior Organizing Specialist may be reassigned to another country in the region as the need for this area of expertise shifts.
Applicants should have extensive experience in union organizing, including developing and winning organizing drives, training organizers, and leading successful contract campaigns.
This position reports to the Trade Union Strengthening Director, based in Washington, DC, who oversees organizing support work globally.

Specific Duties
This is a collective bargaining unit position, generously compensated with a gross annual salary starting at approximately $97,000 USD, plus allowances for housing, education, and annual home leave. A robust benefits package includes fully paid health insurance, a retirement plan and pension, life insurance, and ample paid time off for holidays, vacation, and medical leave.
