Your Career Opportunity
As a Senior Project Manager with the Community Real Estate (CRE) team, you will be on the leading edge of MEDA’s efforts to stop displacement of families in the Mission and San Francisco through housing preservation and production. The Senior Project Manager will primarily focus on housing production - the acquisition, security of planning entitlements and financing, management of construction, and transition of buildings to operations. Your passion for keeping families rooted and advocacy for making change will be well utilized in this position. Your skills in careful project and financial management, directing and coaching of junior staff and leading decision making will ensure your success in this position.

Specifically, you will work on the following areas:
Real Estate development. Respond to the City’s Request for Qualifications/Proposals and other opportunities to receive developer rights of affordable housing projects. Conduct due diligence tasks to safeguard the organization’s investments and corporate integrity. Work closely with asset management and services integration, including MEDA services, to transition buildings into MEDA’s portfolio upon construction completion. Establish and manage the budget and fee projections both for the project financing and construction costs.
Community engagement. Promote and solicit community feedback about developments- in-progress to the general public, as the project team continue to develop the design, financing and construction plans of the projects; and promote leasing opportunities as the project is ready for marketing and leasing, establish trusting relationship with the community in coordination with other MEDA staff, including community real estate and housing opportunities program staff.
Advocacy and Constant improvement. Be part of making changes to guidelines for financing, policies, programming. Limited leadership in implementing procedures and protocol for constant improvement. Be part of an evolving team which reinforces standard operating procedures for increasing efficiency and maintains communications.

The Senior Project Manager will lead project teams of 1-2 staff within the CRE team.
They will represent MEDA in joint venture development partnership, and perform the following duties and responsibilities:
Acquisition and predevelopment

Transition to Operations
Board Reporting
As needed, present reports to the Board of Directors and Board Committee(s)
