The Marketing and Communications team has direct responsibility for online revenue and gifts <$5K. However, this role works in close partnership with Development across the entire spectrum of individual donors (from small-dollar contributors up to principal gifts).

  • Work closely with Rare’s new middle donor manager on both acquisition and cultivation of this emerging donor community.
  • Collaborate with gift officers on outreach to their portfolios regarding news & updates, leveraging SFMC where appropriate.
  • Lead on the campaign and surrounding efforts for year-end fundraising, along with periodic pushes for donations throughout the year.
  • Bring to bear a cross-channel, holistic point of view for the fundraising journey (e.g., the ask on social media, the acquisition on Rare.org, the follow-up messaging), working closely with leads across the Communications team.
  • Partner with members of the Development team to report out on campaign performance, health of Rare’s email file (e.g., churn, lapsed donors), and other key points of data to optimize efforts.

  • Knowledge of and experience with modern design principles & programs (e.g., Adobe) a plus.
