Energy & Environment, one of Ricardo plc’s five operating business units, is a leader in sustainability consultancy, solving complex environmental challenges through industry-leading analysis, advice, and data. We are currently looking for a Senior Innovation Manager to join our Digital Product Management team.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify and assess emerging technology and environmental trends.
  • Develop ideas, products, and new propositions within these emerging trends.
  • Perform market research, financial modelling, competitor assessments to evaluate these solutions for development within the organisation.
  • Develop and own business cases for capital investment for new solutions.
  • Assess build vs buy options, including acquisition targets.
  • Facilitate workshops and events internally to identify new ideas and solutions for assessment.
  • Own the innovation solutions pipeline for progression into product development.
  • Develop and implement innovation development ways of working and tool sets within the organisation.

Key competencies and experience

  • Experience in end-to-end proposition design, development, and customer testing (especially using agile methodologies) matched with exposure to working in Financial or Professional Services sector(s) previously (i.e., knowledge of the Financial Services Industry, particularly innovative and disruptive strategies would be beneficial).
  • Experience in using innovation tools such as: customer canvas, value proposition canvas and business model canvas.
  • Experience in using innovation methodologies such as: design thinking, lean start-up, and hypothesis-led approach.
  • Commercial acumen i.e., understanding how to monetise new ideas and propositions, matched with an innovative mindset & workshop design and facilitation skills.
  • Confident communicating, influencing, and building up relationships with stakeholders up to director level.

  • Knowledge of current and emerging environmental issues and trends.
