Senior Financial Analyst - HYBRID

Location: Toronto, ON - HYBRID

Job Summary:

The Senior Financial Analyst will report to the Director, Financial Reporting and Compliance and be responsible for a wide range of tasks relating to financial reporting and internal controls, focusing on the preparation of IFRS financial statements and SOX compliant internal control implementation.

Additional responsibilities will include assisting with the company’s financial reporting processes including preparing transactions, preparing and reviewing working papers and reconciliations, system implementations, and working with non-finance teams to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assists in preparation of schedules for financial reporting

• Participate in implementing and maintaining new SOX compliant internal controls

• Participates in month end processes including account reconciliations

• Collaborate with non-finance teams to streamline our processes

• Prepare accounting analysis and memos

• Assist in maintaining policy and procedure documentation for various processes

• Maintain monthly, quarterly and year-end working papers and spreadsheets to support financial reporting and analysis and preparation for audits

• Ad hoc projects

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Finance
• Minimum 3 years combined experience in accounting and finance
• Previous experience strongly desired in financial reporting, audit, inventory, and controls testing
• Advanced Excel skills and excellent knowledge of MS Excel
• Preference will be given to candidates who have completed their CPA designation
• NetSuite experience is a plus
• Knowledge of IFRS and US-GAAP is considered a plus
• Solid knowledge of accounting functions
• Detail oriented and organized
• Proven ability to meet deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with high credibility at all levels of the organization
• Must demonstrate flexibility, strong commitment to meeting deadlines, and solid decision-making skills
• Self-motivator with ability to work independently
