The unfolding fossil fuel crisis has offered a lifeline to the crumbling fossil fuel industry which is exploiting the crisis for runaway profits from climate chaos and human suffering. If you are a climate enthusiast, looking to bring the fossil fuel order to an end, Greenpeace International (GPI) is looking for a Senior Campaign Strategist to support and steer climate campaigns and projects within our growing global climate program. We currently require support on exciting fossil fuels and/or climate justice campaigns that aim to bring about an end to the fossil fuel industry and co-power impacted communities who fight to bring it to justice.
Reporting to the Global Campaign Lead, as a key member of the Climate Team, you will steer and support campaign teams across GPI and our National & Regional Organisations (NROs) with high level strategic and technical expertise. You will also facilitate knowledge and information sharing, collaboration and best practice sharing between NROs and keep abreast of the latest technical and policy developments, always aiming to ensure that innovation is at the heart of our work.
Your role will be to provide high-level expertise, as well as take the lead in the development of impactful strategies and tactics, creating opportunities for skill and information sharing between our National and Regional Organizations and external allies. Ensuring the team collaborates, shares best practices, lessons learnt and has space to bring innovative ideas to the projects, will be an essential part of your role.
An experienced campaigner and project leader yourself, you won’t hesitate to be hands on in your support of campaigns, as needed.
As one of our Strategists, you will also play a key role in building and nurturing a community of climate practitioners across the global organization.

What we are looking for:
A track record of planning, delivering and evaluating ambitious campaigns or projects, with substantial experience at senior level.
High level expertise in one or more strategic areas relevant to the climate team - campaigning, communications, public engagement or public advocacy, with emphasis on fossil fuels, energy systems and climate justice.
Knowledge of oil/gas, electricity and utility sectors with emphasis in key global markets.
Excellent project management skills
Experience in working with multicultural senior staff and teams and across borders and timezones.
Effective oral and written communicator, with strong influencing, negotiating, presentation and facilitation skills
Demonstrates knowledge of communications best practice.
Team player with excellent relationship buildings skills and experience of building exceptional teams.
Experience in implementing and bringing about significant positive changes in work culture, practices and performance.
Work proficiency in written and spoken English
Flexible, proactive and organised, with an energetic approach to problem solving
