We are looking for an experienced MEL Consultant to join our growing team in Washington DC to take ownership of implementing business development activities alongside programme management delivery.
The Candiate
You will be adaptable, self-motivated, and have a proven track record in taking on new tasks and reprioritizing at short notice. Strong communication and organization skills are a given including the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships virtually with team members based at Itad’s parent office in the UK. Your international development skills will have been gained over the past 5 years primarily focused around:
Business development experience in humanitarian aid, emergency assistance, or a similar sector
Successful track record in bid management or co-ordination for proposals including USAID, US Government donors, UN agencies, INGOs and the World Bank
Experience of leading business development activities, including identifying opportunities, consortium building/partner outreach, recruiting personnel, preparing compliance and cost materials, assisting with the development of technical language, etc. required.
Technical and/or operational experience in monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL), ideally in one or more of the following sectors: global health, sexual reproductive health, humanitarian aid, ICT4D/Digital development, inclusive growth and livelihoods, and climate change.
Experience providing backstopping support during project implementation, including client and consultant invoicing and logistics planning
Strong English language communication skills- writing, speaking and reading is essential
Strong interpersonal skills which you have used to build and manage relationships with colleagues, clients and teams in different time zones and cultures.
The role
The primary focus of this role will be focused on Business Development (around 80%). However, as a small dynamic team, there will also be a need to step into a Project Management role when required.

The salary for this role is between USD$60 – 70K depending on your experience. We also offer 20 days paid holiday, 10 days paid sick leave and a company matched pension contribution of 5%. We also offer an ICHRA to a fixed amount of up to $600 per month for certain qualifying health care expenses including premiums.
