Responsibilities

Overall Function

The Senior Analyst will work with the Global Climate Cooperation (GCC) team to conduct rigorous analysis as the foundation for multilateral engagement for GCC and its linkages with other multilateral arenas, such as biodiversity.  Working directly with the AVP, Global Climate Cooperation and the Manager, Global Climate Cooperation, the Senior Analyst will lead research and analysis advancing the development and execution of projects and managing specific tasks and projects independently.  The Senior Analyst will be the analytical lead on projects to advance the implementation of EDF’s multilateral climate cooperation strategy and will support efforts to influence discourse in multilateral processes to solve for various challenges simultaneously and to advance multilateral objectives of EDF. The Senior Analyst reports to the AVP, Global Climate Cooperation.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently conduct policy research and analysis to support existing projects and evaluate new project ideas in the space of international policy and multilateral cooperation, including but not limited to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), and the UN General Assembly.
• Conduct assessment of thematic trends in multilateral processes and support in the development of relevant key messaging.
• Manage project tasks such as outreach to potential internal and external partners, developing work plans and timetables, identifying and procuring necessary resources, and managing project work and deliverables.
• Support the development and execution of project initiatives of the Global Climate Cooperation team, including development of research inputs for GCC Leadership and proactive identification of project-relevant analysis.
• Independently conduct research and analysis necessary to engage key external stakeholders relevant to multilateral initiatives that accelerate climate action, leveraging strategic relationships and partnerships.
• Communicate project results to EDF staff, corporate partners, businesses, the media and other stakeholders through reports, presentations, and other methods in close collaboration with EDF Marketing and Communications
• Develop and apply appropriate means for measuring the success of Multilateral Climate Cooperation initiatives, including in piloting the use of new tools and resources.
• Participate in advancing EDF DEI goals in which people from all backgrounds and experiences feel connected, included, and empowered to address environmental and organizational challenges in alignment with EDF values.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• At least five or more years of related experience or an advanced degree with 2 or more years of related experience in international policy and cooperation. Experience in multilateral processes will be a bonus.
• Excellent research, writing and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team member.
• Demonstrated ability in creative problem-solving and managing complex projects involving contractors and multiple partners within the public, private and NGO sectors.
• Demonstrates self-awareness, cultural competency and inclusivity, and ability to work with colleagues and stakeholders across diverse cultures and backgrounds.

Minimum Salary

USD $70,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Salary

USD $77,000.00/Yr.
