• Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) -- the world’s leading carbon crediting program, with more than 1600 registered projects in 80 countries, and accounting for two-thirds of all voluntary carbon market transaction volume.
• Sustainable Development Verified Impact Standard (SD VISta) -- a flexible framework for assessing and reporting on the sustainable development benefits of project-based activities.
• Climate, Community & Biodiversity (CCB) Standards -- to identify projects that simultaneously address climate change, support local communities and smallholders, and conserve biodiversity.
• Plastic Waste Reduction Program -- to enable robust impact assessment of new or scaled-up waste recovery and recycling projects around the globe.

Verra is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized individual to join our team as a Registry Finance Assistant. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate and efficient financial operations within the finance department. The ideal candidate must have prior experience in accounting, particularly in accounts receivable, data entry and reconciliation.

A day with Verra’s collaborative Finance might include…

• Assist in identifying incoming payments and ensure proper allocation to relevant accounts
• Collaborate with the Registry Finance team to support the financial needs of the organization
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
• Contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the finance department
• Communication with customers and team members regarding payment-related inquiries and discrepancies

Specific functions you will be responsible for leading...

• Conduct reconciliation of accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

• Enter new accounts into the accounting system, ensuring accurate and up to date records

• Coordinate the Billing email account, responding to inquiries and forwarding relevant information to appropriate team members

• Complete new customer onboarding and setup as requested by account holders and departments

• Maintain accurate and organized records of financial transactions, invoices, and vendor information

You bring with you...

• Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
• Proven experience in accounting, specifically in accounts receivable and reconciliation
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
• High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling financial information
• Prior experience with Unanet software is a plus

Compensation at Verra

To help us attract and retain top talent, Verra pays employees competitively to the market. In return, we expect each employee to, at a minimum:

For this position, the salary range is USD $50,762 – $57,945, depending on experience.

We will recognize employees who go beyond expected performance with salary increases and/or promotions, but the bar for earning those rewards is high.

Salary is one component of Verra’s total compensation package which also includes:

• Health, vision and dental care, and life insurance;
• Verra contributions to each employee’s retirement plan;
• Verra contributions as required by national labor laws in countries where staff are located;
• Paid Time Off (PTO), comprising 22-30 days plus eleven floating holidays, sabbatical after five years of service, and other leave allowances; and
