Program Overview
The Project Management Fellowship will provide two recent graduates the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills towards solving critical issues related to climate change and other environmental threats. Fellows will work as project managers in research, advocacy, or related fields of EDF work while receiving formal and informal training and mentorship as they develop high quality project management skills. The role will position the successful applicant as an effective team leader and provide support and training towards becoming an accredited Project Manager.
The Project Management Fellow will report to the Enterprise Operations team and work in partnership with relevant project teams. EDF is engaged in a wide range of projects including, but not limited to, reducing atmospheric methane, supporting sustainable fisheries, ecosystem resilience, stabilizing the climate and promoting clean air. EDF will endeavor to place the successful Fellow with teams working on projects aligned with their preferred environmental career interest and direction. Overall Function
Fellows will be involved in the day-to-day operational planning and coordination of projects in support of EDF's mission, as well as adding subject specific expertise to the team as relevant. They will play a key role in ensuring project objectives are met while coordinating team and stakeholder communications, resources, and risk management. Fellows will be trained in project management best practice and will be responsible for implementing these practices in their daily work as well as playing a direct role in and ensuring the success of the project. The Fellows will also work with the Project Management Center to establish project management processes for their associated teams to use in future projects. EDF will support the successful Fellow in training and experience required in pursuit of CAPM, PMP (or equivalent) project management accreditation.
