PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
As the Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for the effective, safe and efficient day to day running of the project operations, continuous engagement of provincial stakeholders including those formally engaged under the project, and capacity strengthening of service providers providing protection services in target provinces. The PC will ensure that all project activities are implemented within schedule in the areas of work and conduct ongoing monitoring to ensure the project is delivering key results that demonstrate project interventions contribute to the protection and support of survivors of Gender-based violence and violence against children. The PC will provide supervision to the project officers based in the highlands and play a strong representational role with external stakeholders in the sector, government, provincial and district level.
KEY DUTIES
- Provide leadership in all tasks related to design, development, implementation and monitoring of the project activities
- Contribute to program quality and effectiveness
- Compilation of project information for narrative and financial report for the project according to established timeframes
- Conduct regular visits to the field to support implementation of the activities and project monitoring. This includes frequent travel to highlands provinces.
- Collaborate with the Office of Child and Family Services to support their work to ensure the protection of women and children.
- Facilitate and lead internal team meetings and attend relevant external meetings in order to represent ChildFund.
- Collect project data and oversee project officer collection of data as well as work with the 1-Tok Helpim Lain data officer to collect data from the helpline.
- Assume responsibility of budgeting and tracking expenses.
- Support continuous staff development though training and other learning opportunities, and regular performance reviews.
- Ensure compliance with CF policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- 3-5 years’ proven experience in project management
- Understanding of PNG’s development context, activities and actors
- Proven experience in facilitating training and capacity building
- Experience in developing project management tools
- Understanding of quantitative and qualitative methods of monitoring and evaluation.
- Understanding of gender-based violence and child protection systems in PNG.
DESIRABLE
- Experience in working with NGOs in cross-cultural setting.
- Experience in delivering GBV or CP services
- Develop training materials and guidelines.
- Experience in a middle management role
- Experience working in the Highlands of PNG
