Reporting to the Senior Project Controls Manager, the Project Controls Manager will be responsible for the overall delivery of project controls, including cost management, planning, and scheduling, project accounting, progress measurement and project reporting.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Work with Li-Cycle’s Finance team to develop, maintain and report project cost information, including budgets, commitments, expenditure, forecast and variance on direct costs as well as planned, actual, estimate to go and variance on indirect costs including Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) services plus invoice management and payment
- Implement and maintain computerized systems to accurate and consistent forecasts of project expenditures
- Implement and maintain standards for project change management
- Manage interface with EPC provider and Construction Management inputs and outputs required to accurately and consistently control and report project progress, expenditures and change management
- Provide decision support to the Management on matters relating to project cost and schedule forecasting
- Working alongside Li-Cycle’s project schedulers to maintain a detailed project schedule at all levels using standard coding and work breakdown structures
- Produce b-weekly and monthly reporting as required, monitoring actuals and budgets
- Ensure suppliers, EPC provider and Construction Management provider are providing timely, accurate and quality inputs to the master cost and schedule
- Maintain trend and change system and organize schedule review and trend meetings
- Review contracts and provide feedback in relation to project schedule and cost implications
- Interface with other project controls and estimating team members

Job Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in a project environment with detailed knowledge of cost control and planning (Hands-on experience is a must)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset
- In depth understanding of the EPCM industry and practices such as Critical Path Method, Earned Value Technique
- Organizational and planning skills, ability to establish priorities, define action plans, set and meet deadlines and monitor performance
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Effective team-building skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team with strong interpersonal and networking skills to build relationships and work effectively with staff at various levels of management
- Sound experience with computer-based scheduling systems (Oracle Primavera) and other computerized applications related to the work is essential
- Hands on experience with Contruent (formally ARES PRISM G2) is an asset
- Significant experience of project accounting
- Post-secondary education in engineering or relevant discipline or equivalent related experience
- Facilitation, negotiation skills and report writing skills
- Strong team player
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to convey project technical information to project managers, clients, and peers
- Interested in innovation, sustainability, safety, and quality
- Strong work ethic
