Program Manager III

The Position

We are seeking a Program Manager to join our team and help us achieve our ambitious goals for our business and the planet.

As a Program Manager on the Implementation team, you will be responsible for planning the projects within your program and overseeing the implementation of those projects. This work includes leading the development of project delivery plans, monitoring and reporting on the program’s status, tracking dependencies, and facilitating prioritization conversations with cross-functional teams.

In this role, you will get to work with a team of project managers who are responsible for the project management of our implementation projects. To be successful, you’ll need to effectively collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders, including utility program staff as well as Uplight Product, Engineering, Sales, Account Management, and Finance teams. You must be effective at cross-functional communication and coordination that drive measurable results. You will need to be comfortable operating at both the strategic level (e.g. process improvement; long-term planning; etc) and at the tactical level (e.g. resolving client issues). You will be accountable for driving results across your program’s scope.

What you will contribute:

• Plan all projects within your program to meet intended scope and deadlines including but not limited to creating project plans/work packages, coordinating cross-functional resources, and facilitating prioritization conversations
• Report out performance of project portfolio on a regular basis to senior and executive leadership
• Oversee multiple projects within the program and provide support to team members on those projects as needed
• Ensure project plan templates for each Uplight product is accurate, thorough, and reflects the current product functionality.
• Provide realistic assessment of resource needs for upcoming product implementations.
• Represent the Implementation department during the sales process on behalf of the products within your program
• Maintain and update resourcing forecast for team on mid to long-term time horizon, leveraging sales pipeline data to effectively make decisions
• Partner with other program managers to align on strategic initiatives within the department (defining new processes; continuous improvement, etc.)

What you bring to Uplight:

• Strong alignment and passion for the Uplight values and mission
• Minimum of four years project management or program management experience, including PMI methodologies
• Exceptional project management and problem solving skills with an ability to handle highly complex projects and identify and resolve risks and blockers
• Proven track record in ability to effectively prioritize competing priorities and evaluate situations to make impactful decisions quickly
• Strong analytical skills with a focus to drive toward successful outcomes
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to balance multiple short and long-term projects of varying scopes and time horizons
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills including client communication and management skills with an ability to defuse escalated situations
• Proven ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences both in person and virtually
• Up to 25% travel required for in-person client meetings, company on-sites, etc.

Bonus Points:

• Passion for driving impactful change toward energy efficiency and sustainability
• Prior experience working at a high growth software company and/or working in the utility industry
• Familiarity with Uplight’s suite of products
• Experience working with agile and/or scrum methodologies

Salary Range: $110,000 to $127,000 USD

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual base compensation range is listed above. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
