What is the opportunity?
Under the direction of the Water Mission Tanzania Country Program Director in coordination with the Director of Professionalized Services in Water Mission headquarters, the Professionalized Services Manager (PSM) will be responsible for organizing, leading, and managing the development of professionalized services within WMT with a goal to ensure sustainability and continued transformation in communities where safe water projects are implemented. Initially, the PSM will organize WMT’s existing strategies for sustainability, including our Rural Water Cooperative (RWC) which provides a platform to remain engaged with communities to help ensure that safe water solutions continue to reliably operate in accordance with Water Mission’s values and standards. The PSM will be responsible to review, understand, and communicate applicable regulatory requirements within Water Mission Tanzania and to engage with Government of Tanzania officials to meet Water Mission objectives, initially in relation to RWC, while maximizing impact through Validated Impact Income including Carbon Credits and UPTIME. The successful candidate will play a key role in operationalizing the Assetas data and asset management system. Additionally, the PSM will provide a key role in the development of additional models of professionalized services such as facilitating the formation of a privatized water utility in the country and ensuring it is operating effectively. While based in Dodoma, this position will require regular travel to areas of implemented safe water projects, including but not limited to Kigoma Region. Success in this role will be measured by return on investment (ROI) and the achievement of sustainability of the implemented safe water projects and impact goals.
As a key leader in Water Mission, the PSM is responsible for leading staff in developing a biblical worldview culture that leads to God-honoring excellence in all work and reinforces the following: providing accurate data, empowering staff to have the skills and mindset needed to acknowledge mistakes or problems as opportunities to find appropriate solutions, and empowering staff to consistently work for excellence in solutions that are consistent with Water Mission’s mission, vision, values, and standards.
