THE ROLE: The Product Owner for digital solutions, in the wastewater network space, is responsible for realizing delivery of the product roadmap, enabling water utilities to better meet today’s as well as tomorrow’s challenges. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:  To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Works with product manager to document and shape high level entries in the roadmap.
  • Works with engineering to translate business requirements from the high level down to plan and objectives.
  • Manages a prioritized backlog and provides transparency on status to all stakeholders.
  • Champions and meaningfully contributes to Agile Scrum ceremonies.
  • Defines software release plan and scope with appropriate leads.
  • Inspires and motivates the development teams to deliver innovative and exciting solutions with an appropriate sense of urgency.
  • Acts as an ambassador for the product internally and externally, and as the primary technical contact for queries related to the product.
  • Works with key stakeholders across the company to ensure successful product releases.
  • Partner on Continuous Improvement efforts.
  • Work with user experience teams to generate an in-depth understanding of user requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS**:**

  • 3+ years of experience working in a Product Owner role working with software requirements and modern software technologies.

  • Proven track record of managing successful product launches throughout their lifecycle.

  • Solid experience with Agile software development practices

  • Skilled at directing and motivating software development teams

  • Able to work with user groups, conduct surveys, incorporate voice of customer.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Confident, experienced presenter

  • Skilled at working collaboratively and effectively with cross functional teams.

  • Kindness and empathy towards customers and colleagues – we deeply value our culture!

  • Experience with solutions that focus on optimizing operations of already deployed infrastructure/assets.

  • Knowledge of water industry specific software applications aimed at wastewater in particular.

  • Training and/or certification as a professional scrum product owner (PSPO) or as a certified scrum product owner (CSPO)

  • Jira experience

  • Familiarity and/or experience with user research (foundational/discovery methodologies, usability studies, persona development, etc.)

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $95,000 to $129,000 plus bonus. At Xylem, it is not typical for an individual to start at the top end of the range for the role however compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. We offer a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
