Friends of the Earth (FOE) is a national not-for-profit environmental organization that strives for a healthier and more just world. We push for the reforms that are needed. We’re part of Friends of the Earth International, a federation of groups working in more than 70 countries on today’s most urgent environmental and social issues.
What We Look For: A talented and dedicated intern to work closely with the Government and Political Affairs Manager, supporting the Political Department and collaborating cross-departmentally to advance progressive and transformational federal environmental policy. The Political Intern will also assist with Friends of the Earth Action’s activities to promote the organization’s political and policy priorities.
Does this sound like you? If so, then this is the intern position for you. This is a paid, part-time internship. The Political Intern must be able to commit to 15-20 hrs/week; (specific hours in the range of 15-20 hours per week to be negotiated) at the rate of $17/hour. The length of the internship is negotiable (range is 3-9 months).
What the Role Needs:
Supportive contributor: You support the Political Department with the development and implementation of legislative and political strategies.
Collaborative Team Member: You build trust and effectively collaborate with colleagues and coalition partners to advance goals and priorities.
Strong Communicator and Results Oriented: You assist with the organization’s advocacy efforts, including producing persuasive and accurate materials, as well as scheduling and participating in educational meetings.
