WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
As part of our mission to empower children through sports and creative play, Kids in the Game offers physical education classes for schools looking to incorporate educational and engaging sports and fitness classes into the traditional school day. Our Physical education (PE) coaches organize games and challenges that promote physical activity among children and young adults from Pre K to middle school. Their goal is to develop motor skills and physical development among younger children and proper exercise and eating habits among older children. PE coaches must adjust their curricula to adapt to children with disabilities or different physical abilities.
Besides possessing a strong background in physical fitness and group instruction, PE coaches must have strong speaking and listening skills to effectively lead class sessions and maintain a well-structured learning environment.
Weekly Schedule: Beginning in November 2022, our PE coaches are expected to teach up to 30 hours per week in different schools throughout the week. As a PE coach, you should expect to teach a full PE curriculum for class sizes of 15-20 students. We provide training (beginning in October) and a PE curriculum that will give you the resources you need to lead a year-round physical education class for different age groups. This PE programs operate 5 days per week (Monday-Friday) for 6 hours per day (Morning and Afternoon).
Compensation: This is a part-time, hourly position. We offer competitive hourly rates in the range of $25-$27 per hour for recess and PE coaches based on prior experience as a general coach and background in school-based or PE instruction.
