What is the opportunity?

The National Community Engagement Coordinator plays a vital role in bringing a superior level of customer service to the ministry’s community engagement efforts. This part-time position will perform key administrative functions, including, but not limited to, inbox and inquiry management, data management, third-party and peer-to-peer fundraiser support, and collateral resources coordination. The position is based in Charleston, SC, or remotely and reports to the Director of National Volunteer Ministry and Community Engagement.

A successful National Community Engagement Coordinator will:

• Maintain a strong Christian witness to colleagues, donors, volunteers, and the general public.

• Maintain high-level knowledge of Water Mission’s organizational objectives, programmatic strategies, projects, and activities.

• Receive and acknowledge all inquiries for third-party and peer-to-peer fundraising activities.

• Assist churches, schools, individuals, and other organizations in raising awareness and funds for the global water crisis and Water Mission.

• Provide ongoing support and care of those individuals and organizations engaging with Water Mission by reaching out periodically for follow-up or sharing their activity and contact with a local volunteer team to manage.

• Track and manage activity and engagement of constituents in Raiser’s Edge.

• Serve as marketing liaison for the build-out of engagement resources.

• Other duties as assigned.

• Commitment to a strong customer service philosophy, including timely responsiveness, follow-through, and building relationships.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

• Two+ years of experience in administrative support, marketing, or project management.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.

• Experience in database management, specifically Raiser’s Edge, preferred.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

• Ability to work independently or collaboratively with a team.

• Commitment to the values and mission of the organization and ending the global water crisis.

• Legal authorization to work in the US.

• Home internet bandwidth strong enough to support video conferencing and other job-related responsibilities is required.
