ABOUT THE ROLE

The Commercial Marketing Manager role will be a critical contributor to crafting the strategy and driving execution of the annual go-to-market plan. This role will lead the project management of many of the tactics within the integrated marketing plan, including the development of thought leadership content, sales collateral, email nurture campaigns, event and webinar strategy, and paid media execution. This role will be responsible for monitoring campaign performance, synthesizing data, recommending optimizations, and reporting on results.
This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Commercial Marketing. This is a remote role in the United States with travel periodically for team meetings or training.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the commercial team’s go-to-market plan, including customer persona development, segmentation, journey optimization, and lead nurture campaigns
- Serve as strategic product marketing partner for key business units within the commercial team, significantly supporting 3Degrees’ commercial strategy; you will develop subject matter expertise for their products/services, including customer, competitive, and market insights that will be analyzed and shared across the cross-functional team
- Help lead the development and execution of the 3Degrees commercial event strategy. This includes researching and recommending key in-person and virtual events and sponsorships; project manage the development of all required assets required for the event, and lead cross-functional communication efforts so that speakers and attendees are informed of event details
- Help execute the roll out of a comprehensive customer onboarding, retention, and upsell/cross-sell strategy to maximize the lifetime value of our customer base
- Develop thought leadership strategy and content, inclusive of blogs, webinar topics, white papers, panels, etc.
- Develop and execute cohesive, impactful integrated marketing activations for client announcements and other campaigns, including but not limited to case studies, webinars, event panels, press releases, etc.
- Develop sales enablement tools (decks, one-pagers, etc.) to support the needs of the business development and product team
ABOUT YOU
As the Commercial Marketing Manager, you are a skilled renewable energy or sustainability marketer with a proven track record of employing a wide array of tools and platforms as a key contributor on a cross-functional marketing team. You have the following skills:
Required:
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in B2B marketing planning and execution, including a progression of responsibility
- Proven ability to execute cross-functional integrated marketing campaigns to deliver on business goals
- Superior writing skills, with the ability to compose a range of compelling short and long-form B2B content
- Excellent project management skills
- Strong campaign analysis skills, with a proven track record for maximizing campaign performance across many marketing channels
- Highly motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic and ability to prioritize
- Experience with the renewable energy and/or sustainability industry
- Shared passion for our mission to help businesses and their customers take urgent action on climate change
Preferred:
- Previous team management experience
- Familiarity with carbon industry
- Experience with Pardot
- Experience with Salesforce

Within 30 days
- You will have a firm understanding of 3Degrees’ marketing and sales team structure/processes and an overall understanding of our products and services
- You will meet with cross-functional stakeholders to better understand the various marketing needs across the business
- You will begin to take on project tasks to support the execution of key go-to-market initiatives
Within 60 days

You will show some proficiency in the fundamental tasks of the role and be able to execute on project deliverables independently

You will regularly join cross-functional team meetings to grow your knowledge of 3Degrees products and services

You will have an understanding of commercial marketing tools and strategies and be able to leverage your unique perspective and insights to inform new opportunities for optimization
Within 90 days
- You will begin independently crafting high quality content and leading key go-to-market plan initiatives
- You will effectively arm the Sales team and BU partners with key sales and marketing tools
- Key business units will feel an increased level of service and heightened subject matter expertise
Within 6 months
- Effectively developing and delivering customer, competitive, and market insights with cross-functional team members on regular cadence
- Valuable strategic partner to key BUs and Sales team
- Independently executing key initiatives within the go-to-market plan
- Demonstrate your expertise to smoothly and timely execute go-to-market plans
- On track to hit your year-end Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) goal
- On track to hit your year-end commercial team KPI goals
