We’re looking for a Marketing Associate to join our small and growing team to ensure the success of our first cohorts of student-teachers.

What does the role entail?
As the Marketing Associate, you will be responsible for supporting the execution of our public relations, marketing, and communications strategy. The Marketing Associate’s role is centered around growing our Brand Reputation, User Experience & Engagement Strategy.
As the Marketing Associate you will;
- Work to build and grow brand visibility, support the execution of our partnerships strategy unify our brand across all channels, increase social media presence across multiple platforms, update and increase traffic to our website, and create an editorial calendar for content marketing
- Execute the remote community building strategy to drive the recruiting of students and teachers to fill our first contact and distance cohorts and draw numbers on our online teacher professional development platform
- Support the implementation of PR and marketing campaigns related to the launching of products, our new campus, and other educational initiatives
- Develop content for various platforms and audiences
- Take ownership of our social media platforms and remain up to date with both our programmes and education trends/data in Africa
- Support business development activities such as events, social media outreach, one-on-one meetings with school leaders, etc.
- Build content schedules and drive engagement with target audiences, and the wider education community, both in South Africa and across the continent
- Manage our website, including uploading content and reviewing for effectiveness, brand, user experience, and campaigns
- Market to, and develop relationships with, a range of different stakeholders including schools, higher education institutions, NGOs, the media and any others you believe will add value to our network
Selection Criteria:
- An appropriate/relevant tertiary qualification
- Social media management experience
- Proficient in the usage of spreadsheets and able to analyze data to interpret ROI and KPI metrics.
- Proficient in digital tools and platforms commonly used in marketing, such as Google Analytics, Google AdWords, Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Twitter Ads, Hootsuite, Mailchimp, Canva, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- The candidate should be able to write clear, concise, and engaging messaging for various marketing materials, including websites, brochures, flyers, emails, social media posts, and blog articles
