Manager - Strategy, PM&E

ROLE PURPOSE

The Strategy, PM&E Manager is a key position in the CEO office within GSF.  The role provides strategic oversight and technical support in the organisation’s strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation. The Strategy, PM&E Manager plays an important role in supporting the CEO in managing strategic priorities and and helps build capacity in performance and impact measurement within the Gold Standard Foundation.

The Strategy PM&E Manager works closely with the management team and facilitates the input of internal stakeholders in work plan design and measurement. They have an essential role in tracking and producing frequent reports for internal and external stakeholders.

The role holder can be based in the UK or Germany working remotely or based from our HQ in Geneva.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Strategy and Planning

• Collaborate with Executive/Management team members to determine and prioritise strategies.
• Responsible for strategic planning and idea/innovation processes.
• Responsible for the coordination of delivery plans and a consistent set of service offerings that are in line with Gold Standard strategy.
• Identify gaps and unfunded potentials for service offerings and liaise with Business Development to develop action plans for resource mobilization.
• Supporting the CEO and executive team in developing annual planning direction for work plan and budget
• Managing Management Team meetings and their actions
• Planning, coordinating and leading meetings and workshop.

Monitoring and Evaluation Activities

• Developing a Monitoring and Evaluation plan for the organizational strategy
• Providing data analysis and metrics of the organisastion’s implementation to the CEO and the executive team, then suggest strategic initiatives to improve workflow, teamwork, and budget management
• Participating in and providing support to project design activities including development of project theories of change and strategic frameworks (Results Frameworks, Log Frames)
• Helping determine performance and impact indicators and targets
• Implementing monitoring process and report templates
• Monitoring project activities, outputs and progress towards anticipated results
• Conducting or providing support to report/data quality assessments

Special Studies and Initiatives

The role holder will often be involved in special studies or initiatives which may be conducted by the CEO office.

• Conducting project assessment, including risk, cost, work plan
• Supporting or leading the task force teams for special studies/initiatives
• Managing external stakeholders in the context of special initiatives

YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE:

• Ideally at least 8+ years of professional experience in strategy, monitoring and evaluation, project management.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills (experience working with the Board of Directors, Executives a plus)
• Demonstrated analytical and assessment skills of quantitative and qualitative data
• Team-oriented, flexible working style, able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Project Management qualification is desired.
• Experience in database management, information analysis, research techniques and methodologies, report writing, use of spreadsheets a plus
• Programme management experience would be a plus
