Coastal 500 is the first-ever global network of local government leaders committed to advancing sustainable coastal fisheries and communities.  It was established in June 2021, and now has over 140 members from local governments that are implementing Fish Forever across 8 countries. Coastal 500 will play a key role in Fish  Forever’s scale strategy, by growing demand for effective local governance of coastal fisheries. In 2023, it plans to open up membership to other local government leaders who are not yet working with Fish Forever and expose them to tools, best practices, and champions from the global network.
