Schedule: Full-Time
Location: Remote, with 30-40%% travel requirements
Reports to: Policy and Electoral Executive
Salary: $134K - $168K annually, commensurate upon experience, with full health benefits for employee and dependents, employer-funded retirement plan, remote work stipend, and 28 days of vacation

Building on the legacy and strategies of past movements, the Movement for Black Lives has created a broad political home for Black organizers, activists, and their organizations. POSITION SUMMARY
M4BL is seeking a dynamic and strategic Campaigns Director to lead our organization's efforts in driving impactful campaigns for social change. The Campaigns Director will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive campaign strategies, managing a team of dedicated campaign staff, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to build coalitions and maximize campaign impact. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in campaign management, strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep commitment to social justice and advocacy. The M4BL Campaigns Director plays a pivotal role as a top strategic thought partner to the Executives on the organization's power-building strategy and external relations. The Director understands and communicates the political landscape and movement context, and assesses which strategy for winning change is most appropriate at which time. This Director leads our campaigns and organizing work and our external engagement and communications to shift the public debate, build powerful coalitions for change, and influence decision-makers.
They serve as the chief implementer of this cohesive strategy, working collaboratively with all directors to develop and coordinate internal processes across departments. With a focus on cultivating a measurable strategy, a commitment to excellence, and a healthy organizational culture, the Campaigns Director ensures that campaigns are aligned with the overall mission and drive impactful change within communities.
The successful candidate will be passionate about M4BL’s mission and be highly motivated to work in a fast-growing, front-line, history-making organization. They must be committed to leadership development, power-building for marginalized communities, and building collaborative structures that make the most of our organizing potential.
This role requires travel and work on occasional weekends and evenings, as determined.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
This position coordinates across departments to develop and operationalize campaigns, with a primary focus this year on two key initiatives: 1) The People's Response Act and coordination of the Community Safety Working Group, and 2) The National Stop Cop City Campaign and associated working committee. Additionally, the Campaign Director is tasked with ensuring that our rapid response moments are effectively transformed into opportunities to achieve tangible gains.
Campaigns & Advocacy
Develop and oversee effective campaign and advocacy strategies for M4BL that can impact on public policy to shift decision-makers towards new economic ideas and involve a range of partners at all levels, in partnership with key membership bodies
Lead on delivering these strategies, ensuring that individual programmes and projects:
Provide expertise and guidance for colleagues in building effective campaign and advocacy tools and approaches into their work.
Lead on building the advocacy capacity across M4BL and providing support to colleagues in using effective approaches to engage our base, the broader public and influence policy makers.
Work with key members and staff to draft and implement a winning campaign and coalition plans that outlines the campaign policy, organizing, narrative and member engagement strategy.
Work with the tech department and directors to develop systems and processes required to execute the work
Responsible for data collection, analysis and reporting
Collaborate with organizing director to create membership engagement strategies
