The Near East Foundation (NEF) for over 100 years, NEF has worked to build a more sustainable, prosperous, and inclusive communities in the Middle East and Africa through economic development and governance initiatives. NEF’s work is organized around three core program areas: Inclusive Economic Development, Climate-resilient Development, and Stabilization and Peacebuilding.
Background
NEF is launching a revolving credit fund pilot to empower local entrepreneurs in North West Syria. This intervention will establish lending facilities to provide small loans to local entrepreneurs through four centers in Al-Bab, Jarablus, Azaz and Mare at Aleppo governorate. This initiative will be piloted in over a period of twelve months with the goal to expand and replicate the self-sustaining model within Longer period.
Position Description
The Loan Officer will oversee and lead on the lending operations. He/she will provide support to the RCF applicants’ outreach, the borrowers’ periodic site visits, to coordinate relationship with borrowers, following up on delinquencies, and acting as a liaison between potential borrowers, partners, and NEF.
