Liaison Officer - Ukraine Partnerships - Based in CEE

Job description

The position requires identifying, coordinating and facilitating successful partnership between European cities and Ukrainian cities which have been destroyed partly or heavily by the war. Part of the Greening the reconstruction of Ukraine project.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation of the partnerships on the EU end, focused on green and progressive practices which will be distributed in post-war Ukraine.

The work will be done in collaboration with Ukrainian colleagues who will be working with UA municipalities.

Requirements

Strategic and conceptual tasks:

  • Participate in the development of the City Partnership concept.

  • Come up with new ideas for concrete green reconstruction efforts in Ukraine

  • Participate in campaign planning

Implementation tasks:

  • Work with colleagues in Ukraine to create concrete packages for reconstruction of public infrastructure in Ukrainian towns (e.g. Schools, Hospitals)

  • Communication with municipalities in EU/Western countries, research and identifying of possible collaboration

  • Research of best practices for urban/energy/environmental solutions

  • Liaise with other GP offices to get them working with cities in their countries to take on concrete partnerships

  • Support other GP offices in publicly promoting the partnerships

  • Collaborate on daily basis with the Ukrainian counterpart of the team

Support tasks

  • Support the communication work around the partnerships in European towns and Ukraine

  • Support reporting of this strand of work towards funders and other stakeholder

  • Financial and administrative support - follow up on the implementation of the concrete projects, undertaken within the partnerships
