JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE
The translator works closely and reports to Government Liaison and Partnership for the translation of the IMC Workshop and Education Program Managers for the Education Reflection Workshop.
The translator has no management responsibilities.
The translator is expected to translate 5-6 pages of workshop materials and provide interpretation translation for the Global Program Director and Technical Advisor from Sydney office during the IMC workshop and Education Reflection Workshop (Lao-English-Lao).
POSITION SUMMARY
The assignment requires the successful candidate to work closely with the Government Liaison and Partnership and Education Technical Advisor in order to translate workshop materials and interpret the discussion of the IMC meeting to the Global Program Director and Education Technical Advisor. The IMC meeting will be including of 1 day meeting and 1 day of field visit to PAER (Promoting Accountability and Education Rights) and GLEESE (Gender and Language Education to Ethnic Students’ Empowerment) Project’s activities and target school. The interpreter will then provide interpretation for the Education Technical Advisors and the discussion among the participants during the Education Reflection Workshop (estimated of 10 people).

The meeting and the workshop will be held in Xamneau District, Houaphanh Province, the consultant is required to plan additional days for the traveling depending on the transportation method available. ChildFund in Laos will cover all cost related to transportation, accommodation and PD during the trip.

All discussions and documents relating to this ToR will be treated as confidential by both parties.
The successful applicants will be required to comply with ChildFund in Laos’s Child Protection Policy by signing the Code of Conduct. A background check will also be The successful applicants will be expected to understand and adhere to ChildFund’s informed consent policy.
The successful applicants will be required to have in place insurance that covers accident or injury for the duration of the contract. ChildFund Laos will not be responsible for all travel and accommodation costs. ChildFund Laos is an equal opportunities employer.
