Information Management Specialist

Location: Toronto, ON

Job Summary:

The Information Management Specialist will function as an information management and information protection subject matter expert as it relates to the creation, maintenance, security, retention, and disposal of records. This role is responsible for analyzing, designing, implementing and maintaining information management solutions that meet the needs of the organization, as well as supporting the development and implementation of information policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy, security and accessibility of organizational information.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Work with stakeholders to identify business requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
• Analyze information flows and requirements to design and implement effective information management solutions.
• Collaborate with service providers, business champions, internal and external business analysts, project managers and IT teams to ensure that information management solutions are implemented and integrated with existing systems as necessary.
• Develop business cases to justify the implementation of new technologies and solutions.
• Design and implement information policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy, security and accessibility of enterprise information.
• Facilitate the adoption of new technologies and solutions, and provide training to users as necessary.
• Provide recommendations for improvements to information management processes and technologies.
• Keep up to date with new technologies and trends in information management.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in information management, computer science, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in information management or related field.
• Strong understanding of information management principles and best practices.
• Experience and knowledge of enterprise content management strategies, methodologies, and tools, such as OpenText xECM Content Server and SharePoint Online.
• Strong project management and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of information governance and security an asset.
• Practical experience in digital archiving solutions, as well as records management.
• Experience working in a single- and multi-tenant SaaS and PaaS environment.
