Today, our team of more than 700 lawyers, scientists, economists, policy advocates, communications experts, and others work across the United States and the globe from our offices in Bozeman, Montana; Chicago; New York; San Francisco; Santa Monica; Washington, D.C.; and Beijing.
NRDC is seeking an Industrial and Hydrogen Analyst to work with the Science Office team in our Washington DC or New York offices.
Position Summary
The Policy Analysis group at NRDC is looking for an Industrial and Hydrogen Analyst to help support NRDC’s industrial decarbonization and clean hydrogen advocacy at the state, regional, and federal level.
The analyst will develop, conduct, and oversee detailed analyses of the impacts of environmental regulations, federal funding and tax credits, and other clean product policies on the industrial sector and broader U.S. economy. The analyst will work closely with the Industrial, Hydrogen, and Innovation team and other NRDC colleagues in various programs to provide impactful analytical and modeling support for NRDC’s industrial and clean hydrogen advocacy portfolio. The team is currently focused on the cement, concrete, steel, and aluminum sectors, and the analyst will help model and analyze a greater range of decarbonization solutions and scenarios for these sectors. This work will help advise policymakers, NRDC, and our partners on credible pathways to deep decarbonization in these specific sectors in support of the team’s state and federal advocacy agenda. At the same time, the analyst will be a critical part of the team’s effort to broaden NRDC’s work in heavy industry, exploring other potential subsectors of interest.
The analyst will also collaborate within the Policy Analysis group, help coordinate efforts with partners, and review work completed by external consultants. The Industrial and Hydrogen Analyst is expected to develop reports and blogs, manage projects and analysis done internally or by consultants, serve as a technical resource for internal and external partners, and present work to external audiences.
