Within this department, the Direct Marketing team focuses on strategically growing our supporter base and generating unrestricted and flexible income to further our global work.
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Direct Marketing, the Individual Giving officer will play a critical role within the Development Team primarily looking after our individual donors through the delivery of direct online and offline marketing and communications. You will support the delivery of individual giving and donations across acquisition and retention strategies including direct mail appeals, digital, lottery, stewardship materials and supporter journeys.
You will be responsible for campaign planning, testing, creative development, researching content and images for appeals, agency management and delivery and making sure that any appeal is run efficiently and effectively throughout.
You will play a key role in developing digital fundraising activities within Mercy Corps to maximise income, supporter acquisition and retention through digital channels, including social media, support engaging content creation, frictionless donations on digital channels and some website management.
You will work closely with members of the Development Team in Europe and global MarComms Team to support all fundraising initiatives through mass market, regular giving, legacy fundraising, corporate and foundation partnerships. You will identify storytelling and multichannel campaign opportunities that strengthen our relationships with current and future European supporters and partners, ensuring all content and messaging appropriately represents Mercy Corps’ brand and messaging; and provide analysis reports on key metrics and trends to inform decision making.
When a humanitarian crisis strikes, you will work closely with other members of the Development Team to rapidly develop appropriate reactive content and messaging for social media and website to inform and engage our audiences, coordinating with the wider MarComms and Development Teams as we develop a programmatic response.
We are looking for a natural communicator with attention to detail and passion for creativity. You will be stepping into a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment. We need someone who is excited by change and new challenges, has deep experience in digital marketing and is highly effective at working across teams to make an impact.
