HR Talent Management Intern

Position Overview

The Talent Intern will have the opportunity to focus on professional development, career enhancement and talent management. The intern may be required to perform independent research on best practices and propose innovative strategies on these focus areas. Strategies and improvements will positively affect Rare staff in their professional and career development, as well as improving their ability to perform their roles.

This is a great opportunity for anyone looking for human resources (HR), organizational development, talent management, and/or learning and development experience with a global non-profit conservation organization.

Core responsibilities:

  • Conversion and maintenance of employment contract templates for all countries in which Rare works. This will also include the creation of a filing system for these documents.
  • Support Rare Talent’s DEI initiatives in our recruitment process through the research of posting sites for job vacancies. May include analysis of utilization and impact of these sites.
  • Support employee file and audit clean up in our shared file system; Egnyte.
  • Support the cleanup of historical I-9’s in the Arlington office.
  • Research best practices, gather and analyze data, summarize information, and prepare reports/recommendations. Brainstorm ideas and participate in activities to strengthen the Talent team.
  • Support the Talent Acquisition function of the Talent team
  • Administrative support for HR projects and administration

Targeted Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Pursuing or completed an undergraduate or graduate degree in Psychology, human resources, industrial organization or related fields
  • Dynamic personality ready to contribute where needed
  • Well organized, self-motivated, and able to manage deadlines independently
  • Excellent understanding of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Eager and quick to learn new systems and software
  • Editing, writing experience, and research experience strongly preferred
  • Superb attention to detail and proven ability to execute highly specific tasks
  • Interest in conservation/environmental issues through coursework, work experience, or extracurricular activities
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in the workplace
  • Native or near-native written and spoken English language skills required
