About the role

GVI is looking for a dynamic individual to fill our newest role of Head of Group Operations. The main role of the Head of Group Operations is to lead the groups operations team in fulfilling the successful delivery of groups and teens programs in the field as per GVI experience specifications.

Role and responsibilities:

• Assist the Groups Operation Director with all necessary tasks in relation to design and delivery of GVI group and teens programs across all our global hubs
• Oversee groups project managers in the creation and delivery of multiple programs to ensure:
  1. Accurate program start/end dates, participant numbers, and other program information
  2. Robust and exciting itineraries
  3. Correct and accurate program costing
  4. Smooth program implementation
  5. In-field emergency requests are attended to according to GVI policies
• Collaborate with various departments such as Group Sales and Groups Support to continue having strong communication of program needs/requirements across GVI
• Work with the People team, Program Directors and other GVI central/field teams to successfully staff group programs, building a pool of excellent candidates that can be utilised for continued successful program delivery.
• Manage all GVI group bespoke programs from start to finish which do not follow standard itineraries with input from project managers and other GVI country experts
• Support Head of Group Delivery with the successful management of any issues which arise across the hubs, including on-the-ground management of customer complaints, medical issues, natural disasters etc. during programs and delegating urgent tasks as required
• Assess current process flows to ensure the smooth creation and implementation of programs while creating and/or improving current processes where there are gaps
• Develop and implement new group products alongside Groups Operation Director, Product Team, and other relevant GVI Teams
• Ensure appropriate resources are available to all teams as needed
• Ad hoc duties as requested from the Groups Operation Director

Professional skills and experience:

• At least 1 - 3 years of managerial experience
• Project management experience
• Study abroad and/or volunteer program manager experience
• Recruitment experience
• 1-2 years of budgeting and financial management experience
