We are open to remote work for this position and will happily accept applicants from anywhere in Portugal, South Africa, Kenya, and Ethiopia.

The Job

As the Grants & Treasury Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the financial success of the organisation. You will have the opportunity to manage and allocate grants, utilizing your skills in budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring expenditures. Your expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and donor compliance and reporting will enable you to make a meaningful impact and help us thrive.

Responsibilities:

• Donor budget management: Manage grant start-up and close-out procedures, develop budgets for new business opportunities, and monitor financial reports to provide insights to management.
• Donor contract compliance: Ensure compliance with all contract requirements and restrictions for grants, including those related to programmatic and financial reporting, procurement, and applicable laws and regulations.
• Budget tracking: Monitor the financial monitoring of all grants, including spend plans and annual operating budgets, and review budget variance analysis.
• Donor reporting: Review and deliver timely and accurate donor reports, coordinate donor audits, and lead on management response plans resulting from donor audits when necessary.
• Subaward management: Evaluate and train implementing partners, ensure partner finance and due diligence are documented in line with Triggerise guidelines, and lead pre and post-award briefings with implementing partners.
• Treasury management: Develop a cash investment strategy, monitor and manage cash flow, and ensure cash top-ups are in accordance with donor budgets.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field;

• 3+ years of experience in financial management, budgeting, and grant management

• Strong experience with donor compliance, contracts, accounting standards, cost control methods, and reporting,

• Excellent financial modeling skills,

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage deadlines.

• Excellent Excel skills.

• Fluency in English.

The rewards

The gross monthly salary bracket for this position is R62,045 - R93,067 in South Africa, Ksh406,131 - Ksh609,197 in Kenya, €2,428 - €3,642 in Ethiopia, and €3,295 - €4,943 in Portugal, plus benefits. We will offer you a salary in this bracket depending on your level of experience and how it relates to your future colleagues.
