Climate Policy Initiative (CPI) works to improve the most important energy and land use policies around the world, with a particular focus on finance. CPI supports decision makers through in-depth analysis on what works and what does not. CPI works in places that provide the most potential for policy impact, including Brazil, Europe, India, Indonesia and the United States. Our work helps nations grow while addressing increasingly scarce resources and climate risk. CPI focuses on the nexus of policy and finance with deep expertise across Energy Transition and improving access to clean energy, Green Cities and Sustainable Infrastructure, Forests and Land Use, Adaptation & Resilience, Nature-based Solutions, Sustainable Agriculture and other related climate sectors.

CPI’s India office is looking to hire an Analyst to support the deliverables of the Climate, Green and Sustainable Finance workstream.
Under the supervision and guidance of senior staff, Analysts undertake robust and careful analysis, drawing on methodologies from micro- and macroeconomics, public policy, regulatory economics, finance, behavioral science, risk management, statistics, law, engineering, and other academic and commercial disciplines. Analysts work in close cooperation with a range of international partners from the policy, finance, and corporate spheres, as well as with CPI teams across the globe.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Qualifications & Experience
Experience in financial services, management consulting, international non-profit, or development financial institution.
Background in Financial sector – Banking/capital markets/insurance
Experience in credit risk/market risk/operational risk would be useful.
Understanding of climate finance and the financial sector actors and actions that are crucial to driving a low carbon, climate-resilient economy and building back better would be useful.
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering or any other relevant field. Master’s degree in a relevant field preferred or equivalent professional experience

CPI is hiring for one full-time position, open immediately, to be based in our New Delhi office. The CPI team is currently working in a hybrid manner.
