Land & Carbon Lab (LCL) is WRI’s hub for geospatial data, analysis, and monitoring of the world’s land and its natural assets. It powers data innovation and monitoring solutions across WRI’s work on landscape restoration, ecosystem protection, food system transformation, and natural infrastructure, including the world-renown Global Forest Watch platform. Our 2023 Summit is a three-day conference held in Brussels (June 27 – 29) uniting two communities: (1) scientists and technologists behind the latest innovations in monitoring the world’s land, and (2) decision-makers and practitioners working to deploy these cutting-edge monitoring tools to accelerate implementation and financing of nature-based solutions. The Summit aims to foster connections and collaborations that drive better data for bigger impacts. Job Highlight:
Land & Carbon Lab is recruiting a full-time Event Program Manager for a six-month term. You will work with diverse internal and external partners to design and execute an event program that delivers engaging and inspiring content for participants. You will be responsible for overall event planning, helping coordinate the activities of staff and external contractors responsible for various aspects, including logistics, marketing and communications, budgeting, participant management, and more. You will report to and work closely with the Director of Land & Carbon Lab on overall strategy and program design. You will be supported by an external event planning firm and internal event planning committee, including Land & Carbon Lab’s Senior Communications Manager, Senior Engagement Manager, Operations Manager, etc. This position is fully remote. Some travel to Brussels will be required.

What will you need:
Education: You have a completed Bachelors degree (Masters preferred) degree in related fields such as international development, environmental policy, etc.
Experience: You have a minimum of 7+ years of relevant professional experience
You have managed large events in a collaborative and accountable environment with demonstrable outcomes
You have conceptualized and delivered on capacity building and knowledge exchange workshops
You have knowledge and experience working on topics related to sustainable development (e.g., nature, climate, equity), preferably in an international setting
You have working knowledge of project management software solutions, tools and approaches and experience applying these solutions across large and complex programs.
You have experience communicating effectively across large, complex teams with international colleagues
You have experience setting priorities and working independently with minimal supervision
Languages: You have written and oral fluency in English. Knowledge of additional languages such as French, German, and Dutch are a plus.
Requirements: Existing work authorization is required where this position is based. WRI is unable to authorize visa work authorization.
Potential Salary:
Salary is commensurate with experience and other compensable factors.
