About the Internship

Integral is seeking Interns for our Environmental Analytics team, which supports our work on environmental and engineering projects. As an Intern, you will work alongside Integral’s interdisciplinary teams of environmental scientists, data managers, and engineers to gain hands-on experience in data analytics and environmental consulting. This internship is designed to help bridge the gap between formal education and the workplace.

Responsibilities

As an Environmental Analytics Intern, your job functions could include, but not be limited to:

Providing technical support on client projects involving management, analysis, visualization, and reporting of complex environmental datasets

  • Leading data preparation activities such as organizing, tracking, and summarizing environmental data sources
  • Performing quality assurance reviews of technical analyses and results
  • Conducting statistical data analyses and preparing summaries
  • Developing capabilities in an analytical area of interest (e.g., web scraping, development of web-based applications, machine learning, or creating interactive data displays)

Qualifications

Candidates must be a recent graduate or currently pursuing a graduate or undergraduate degree in an environmental science (e.g., Geology, Hydrogeology, Civil or Environmental Engineering, Oceanography, Biology, Toxicology, Public Health, Economics) or a degree in another quantitative field, such as computer sciences, with environmental coursework preferred.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in an environmentally focused discipline
  • Experience in a programming language (e.g., R, Python)
  • Experience with a code versioning tool, such as Git
  • Proficiency with current MS Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • A desire to grow both intellectually and professionally
  • Possess strong organizational abilities
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers

Hourly compensation ranges $22 - $28 per hour, part- or full-time for the spring/summer.

Interns are eligible for company-subsidized (employee and family) medical, dental, and vision insurance.
