Integral Consulting Inc. is hiring an

Entry-level Assistant/Associate Environmental Risk Scientist

🇺🇸 United States 📝 FULL-TIME

About You

You are excited to apply your recent (or imminent) master’s degree in public health, epidemiology, toxicology, biology, chemistry, or a related field. You are curious, collaborative, organized, and a strong writer. You want to work on varied projects and learn new skills. You find team projects gratifying because colleagues with diverse expertise often find innovative and elegant solutions. Complex spreadsheets and R-scripted calculations are familiar territory, though you’re not afraid to ask for direction when you need it. You have enjoyed the environmental fieldwork that you’ve done as part of coursework or an internship, and you hope to do more. Your writing is clear, accurate, organized, and engaging. You manage your time effectively, especially when you have multiple competing deadlines. If this sounds like you, consider building your career in the Toxicology, Health, and Ecological Sciences practice at Integral Consulting Inc.

The position will support multiple clients and projects, with the common theme of characterizing the interactions of organisms (e.g., people, wildlife, fish, invertebrates) and chemicals. Career growth at Integral offers future opportunities to manage tasks and projects, communicate with clients, and present and/or publish your work through science conferences and peer-reviewed journals. Most assignments will require teamwork, though a few will be entirely your responsibility.

Responsibilities

As an Environmental Risk Scientist, your job functions will include, but not be limited to:

  • Working collaboratively with project teams to ensure the delivery of accurate and timely work products
  • Leading data preparation and management activities such as organizing, tracking, extracting, and summarizing environmental data and their sources
  • Conducting statistical data analyses and preparing tabular and graphical summaries
  • Completing calculations to support human health and ecological risk assessments
  • Researching specified topics and summarizing technical findings
  • Synthesizing findings derived using experimental and computational approaches
  • Documenting methods, results, and recommendations
  • Continually improving client work products and completion processes by sharing ideas and improving efficiencies
  • Developing short- and long-term career goals and a process for achieving them; tracking progress, keeping supervisor informed, and reassessing priorities often
  • Accurately tracking and recording daily activities
  • Actively communicating with project managers and other project team members to provide progress updates and asking questions
  • Travel up to 25%
