About the Position

The Enrichment Specialist will facilitate instruction for elementary-aged scholars and be committed to providing high-quality education and enrichment experiences for young learners. This is a summer seasonal position.

Responsibilities include:

As an Enrichment Specialist, you will:

Be the Instructional Leader in a classroom

• Teach an enrichment course in your area of expertise
• Design weekly lesson plans that culminate in a finale performance or demonstration
• Implement best practices for classroom management
• Collaborate with CBED and partner school staff to create meaningful experiences for elementary-aged scholars

Commit to programmatic goals

• Set rigorous and high expectations for elementary scholars.
• Collaborate with FSLA staff to create a cohesive, nurturing environment for FSLA scholars

Background and experience expectations:

• Prior experience teaching or supporting elementary school students
• Experience or education in your area of expertise (e.g. performing arts, visual arts, sports, yoga, etc.)
• An interest in helping elementary scholars achieve their personal learning goals
• Have a deep commitment to The Center’s mission, vision, and core values
• Interested in being a teacher and/or working with younger children in some capacity
• Receptive to providing, receiving, and implementing feedback
• An advocate for communities of color, children, and families
• Ability to bring high-level creative energy
• Ability to operate Zoom, manage Google Sheets, and work with online data tracking systems

Other work requirements:

• Must be able to work in-person during program operating hours and occasionally on evenings or weekends
• Ability to physically perform the duties and to work in the environmental conditions required such as maneuvering in classroom space; Must be able to operate technical equipment such as projectors and smartboards
• Must be able to type, using a keyboard and mouse
• Must be able to lift up to 20lbs
• Must be able to travel as needed
