About the Program:
The International Climate Action (ICA) Initiative uses analysis, innovation and partnerships to achieve effective national policies and ambitious, equitable international climate action. ICA serves as a nexus for international climate policy across WRI, drawing on the organization’s expertise on a wide range of issues. ICA is also home to the Allied for Climate Transformation by 2025 Consortium (ACT2025), which convenes key stakeholders to achieve ambitious, just, and equitable outcomes at UN climate negotiations that ultimately promote a low-carbon and climate resilient future for all. As one of the few initiatives focused on convening South-South thought leaders around climate diplomacy, ACT2025 fills a singular and critical gap in international climate negotiations. Focusing our partnership with organizations from the Global South ensures that the consortium centers the needs and demands of the most vulnerable populations, and engaging thought-leaders from outside government ensures we bring a wide range of perspectives uninfluenced by political agendas and centered around evidence-based solutions.
